自転車に乗らないあなたのために、バッグをつくる。

「SLOWSUUは何のために存在するのか？」

最近、ずっと考えていた。そして、一つの答えにたどり着いた。
これは、僕なりのやり方での、自転車カルチャーへの恩返しだ。

僕の人生は自転車と共にあった。
その世界はどこまでも深く、豊かで、僕の人生を救ってくれた。

その世界には、最高の「物」「店」「コミュニティ」「イベント」「人」で溢れている。
だが、それは普通の人にとっては興味のない、関係のない世界なのかもしれない。

じゃあ、SLOWSUUに何ができる？

大それたことはできない。
でも、自転車に乗らないあなたが、思わず持ちたくなるような、最高のバッグを作ることはできる。
そのバッグがあなたの日常をささえるようになった、ある日。
ふと、こう思うかもしれない。

「このバッグが生まれた世界って、どんなだろう？」
「自転車のある生活も、悪くないのかもしれないな」と。

俺が願うのは、その「小さなきっかけ」を創り出すことだけだ。

自転車が、ライフスタイルの一部になること。
自転車が、ライフワークの一部になること。

もし、あなたをその世界の入り口まで連れて行くことができたなら。
もし、自転車のことを、ほんの少しでも好きになってくれたなら。

そこから先は、もうSLOWSUUの仕事じゃない。

そこから先は僕が尊敬する先達者たちが創り上げてきた、ライトで、ディープで、クレイジーな自転車カルチャーが、
両手を広げて待ってくれている。

その世界が、あなたの人生をもっと豊かにしてくれるはずだ。
SLOWSUUは、そのための小さなきっかけになることを願って。

I've been thinking about it a lot lately. And I've arrived at an answer.
This is my way of giving back to the bicycle culture.

My life has always been with the bicycle.
That world is endlessly deep, rich, and it saved my life.

That world is overflowing with the best 'things,' shops, communities, events, and people.
But for the average person, it might just be an uninteresting, irrelevant world.

So, what can SLOWSUU do?

I can't do anything grandiose.
But I can make the best bags that even you, who doesn't ride a bike, would instinctively want to carry.
One day, after that bag has become a support in your daily life, you might suddenly think:

"What kind of world was this bag born from?"
"Maybe a life with a bicycle isn't so bad after all."

All I hope for is to create that "small spark."

For the bicycle to become a part of your lifestyle.
For the bicycle to become a part of your life's work.

If I can manage to lead you to the entrance of that world.
If you come to like the bicycle, even just a little bit...

From that point on, it's no longer SLOWSUU's job.

From there, the light, deep, and crazy bicycle culture—built by the pioneers I deeply respect—is waiting for you with open arms.

That world will make your life even richer.
Hoping that SLOWSUU can be the small spark for all of that.
